Evaluation and Treatment

Your child's therapist will perform a comprehensive assessment on the first visit that will include an evaluation of:

• Muscle tone
• Motor development
• Range of motion and strength
• Balance and coordination
• Posture and motor control

Based on the results of your child's evaluation, your therapist will develop an individualized treatment plan to address your child's specific needs.

Signs that your child could benefit from physical therapy:

• Asymmetric posture or use of the extremities

• Preferential tilting or turning of the head and neck to one side

• Flat area on the back of the head

• Difficulty or delay in achieving expected developmental milestones
• Muscles that seem too loose/floppy or too tight/stiff
• Awkward or clumsy gait/mobility
• Recent injury or pain with activity
